It was also a great opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Chairman of the European Works Council, Petr Slanina, from LIBERTY Ostrava, into his important new role. Peter takes on the role from his Ostrava colleague David Verner, who has been the Chairman on the EWC since its set up in November 2021.
The team were also pleased to welcome and integrate four new Hungarian members from LIBERTY Dunaújváros to the European Works Council, joining 29 members from across continental Europe and the UK.

“The EWC remains an important forum for our senior leadership to share updates and discuss pan-European issues with our union leaders. I am very pleased to welcome Petr Slanina as Chairman as it great to have such an experienced union representative leading this important forum. I’d also like to thank David for all of his efforts over the last few years. We look forward to a continued constructive dialogue in the future,.
