On Saturday 26th August 2023, ALVANCE British Aluminium hosted a Staff & Contractor Family Fun Day for around 180 people. Whilst the rain looked menacing to start with, it was a fantastic day for all those who attended. It was great to see so many people attend and for wider family members to participate as well.
The event took place at Fort William Shinty Club, and included the Scotting Fire and Rescue Service, allowing children a tour of the fire engine and delicious food from Argyll Hog Roasts / Argyll Event Catering, and the Wild Highland Outdoor Centre who entertained guests with axe and spear throwing as well as providing Mini Landys (An off-road driving adventure, where the kids take control in an electric mini replica Landrovers.) for the children. Enjoying an exciting off-road driving adventure to remember. Each getting shots to take control of the electric mini replica Land Rovers, manoeuvring through twists and turns, over bridges, along with various purpose-built obstacles along the way. Many of the children also looked brilliant after getting some creative face paint designs.
There were a range of raffles for guests, everything from a variety of overflowing hampers, vouchers, a signed Rangers Football top, to a signed sales award Snow Patrol disc and an iPad were won, but the most sought-after prize was winning an extra day to their annual leave!
There were 35 incredible local businesses who donated extremely generous prizes, which impressively helped raise over ÂŁ2,500. This will be split evenly between two causes, The Buzz Project and Montrose centre Inverlochy.
Finally, The Nevis Centre provided the use of the five-a-side goals for the day for guests to enjoy.
