The GFG Alliance office in Dubai was draped in traditional Diwali lamps and colours, to celebrate the festival of lights.
Diwali, or Dipawali, is India and the Indian global diaspora’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. The dates of the festival are based on the Hindu lunar calendar, typically falling in late October or early November.
The Dubai office celebrated the festival of lights with a traditional prayer ceremony or puja, followed by a festival lunch and traditional sweets. The office was also decorated with lamps and lights and staff wore their festive finery for the occasion.
