We enjoyed four intense days at the 20th edition of Colours of Ostrava!
Between the concerts on the music stages and the lectures at the Meltingpot, more than 6,000 visitors found their way to our LIBERTY Dance for life zone and helped raise funds for Ostrava Flamingos para hockey team with our amazing electronic pin-wristbands. We reckon over the four days, maybe twice as many dancers took turns in front of the stage encouraging their friends as they danced! Visitors to LIBERTY Dance for life ended up raising 184,781 CZK through their dancing, which LIBERTY Ostrava will round up to 200,000 CZK and send to the Flamingos.
The fun was not only provided through dancing, but visitors could also interact with the para hockey players during goal shooting training and through our unique table para hockey. They could also enjoy the opportunity to get to know more about the GFG Foundation and enjoy not only the ice cream and pies from Mental Café, but also their excellent homemade lemonades.
For us as a General Partner, the festival was also an opportunity for meetings with important stakeholders such as national and local politicians, customers and partners. We were also very pleased that there was also an opportunity for a meeting of Ajay Aggarwal, the Chairman of the Board of LIBERTY Ostrava and our European President, with Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
The first brave person to try to copy the dancer’s movements on stage as best they could was LIBERTY Ostrava’s RenĂ© Vitásek.
I work at a medium volume rolling mill and this year I celebrate 30 years in the company. My family and I were at Colours of Ostrava, and we came here to say hello to the LIBERTY Dance for Life zone. When they announced the first dance, I didn’t hesitate, anything for the company!

“Together with colleagues from the HR-BUP team we visited the 20th edition of the locally famous music festival Colours of Ostrava! As every year, Colours offered great performances of music stars from all over the world.
However, our team’s favourite performance was the concert of the band OneRepublic.
In addition to seeing interesting performances, listening to lectures, and sampling all sorts of food and drink, we helped local para-hockey team Flamingos Ostrava through the Liberty Dance for Life stage.

For Tomáš Pětvaldský, Health & Safety Manager, it was his first time at Colours of Ostrava, and he attended the event with his family.
“If I don’t count work matters, it was my first time at Colours of Ostrava. I enjoyed the night with my friends, and I had great time with my family too. I like that the festival can offer entertainment for absolutely everyone.
I enjoyed the OneRepublic concert with my friends, and activities at the Family park with my family the most.
The atmosphere in the old VĂtkovice factory is for me, as a steelman, absolutely fascinating and I’m really proud that we have found such use of this cultural heritage here.”
