LIBERTY at the Ostrava City Marathon

This year, LIBERTY Ostrava was the main partner of the Ostrava City Marathon, and twenty-five of our colleagues put their physical abilities to test in competition, with more than a thousand other participants who raced in the marathon.

They competed in various disciplines. Some of our colleagues ran a ten-kilometre course. Seven runners represented us in the LIBERTY Half Marathon and we also put together two six-person relays that raced over a thirty-six kilometre course. The best result was achieved by our colleague David Hartig from Maintenance, who ran in the LIBERTY half marathon in his age category to win a silver medal! 

In the ten-kilometre race, the best of our colleagues was Tomas Wagner from the Tubular plant, who finished in 37th place, ahead of 200 other runners in this race. Two of our relay teams were also successful, taking 26th and 46th place in the overall standings in competition with 104 other teams.

“Everybody was going full speed in the relays and both groups of six placed in the top half of the starting field, which is absolutely fantastic! Congratulations also to the colleagues in other races. I would especially like to mention the excellent performance of David Hartig, who placed second in his category in the LIBERTY half marathon.
