Whyalla featured on hit documentary series Australian Story
In September 2018, the ABC’s hit documentary series Australian Story tracked ...
Recently, a team of volunteers from Liberty Speciality Steels, mainly apprentices, worked alongside the Steel Valley Project Team to plant 500 trees at Broomhead Reservoir near Stocksbridge. The new woodland, made up of a variety of tree species, will support the local environment and help reduce the risk of flooding in the area, which is often wet and boggy.
The landscape presented some tough challenges. The ground was uneven, with hard soil and marshy spots, making the planting process difficult. However, the volunteers stayed focused and worked hard. By planting these trees, they are not only improving the local area but also playing a key role in protecting it from flooding.
This is another great example of LIBERTY’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved in this valuable community project!
