Lorien will go on to represent Tasmania and LIBERTY Bell Bay at the national Awards later in the year. Lorien said “To win this award has shown that I am a respected and recognised tradeswoman in a non-traditional workplace within Tasmania. It is essential to promote women in industry and tell their successful career path stories through the TMEC awards. Present and future women need encouragement and support to advance in their current roles or pursue an industry career. We need to inspire young women that a successful and happy career in industry is possible.”

In 2021, Production Materials Movement Manager Michael Spicer won the award in the Gender Diversity Champion category for his tireless efforts to increase female participation in the workforce.
Michael increased his team’s diversity to 50 per cent of leadership roles and 16 per cent overall female participation while simultaneously supporting the development of women in his team to advance with the company.
