SIMEC Mining achieves Silver EcoVadis Sustainability Medal

The result puts SIMEC Mining within the top 25% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.

SIMEC Mining’s iron ore/coking coal business within LIBERTY Primary Metals Australia has been assessed independently by EcoVadis and awarded the Silver Sustainability Medal.

Why is it significant?

EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings and evaluates how well a company has integrated the principles of Sustainability/CSR into their business and management system.

Achieving a Silver medal puts SIMEC Mining in the top 25% of companies and marks another great step in its sustainability journey. The scorecard also gives helpful pointers as to where to focus efforts as SIMEC Mining continues to improve its sustainability and ESG measurement for themselves, their customers, investors and other stakeholders.  

EcoVadis’ methodology is built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000, covering 200+ spend categories and 160+ countries.
