LIBERTY Czestochowa restarts prefabricating plant

LIBERTY Czestochowa, Poland’s only producer of GREENSTEEL, has started to produce steel prefabricates for the first time since 2020. The restart of the Prefabrication Plant, which used to produce around 2,500 tonnes a month, will lead to another 30 jobs over the next year.

LIBERTY Czestochowa, produces the GREENSTEEL which is used at the Prefabrication plant. The steel is then manufactured into prefabricated products, such as parts for wind turbines and pressure tanks, for the engineering, power engineering and construction industries. Now the plant has all the necessary certificates in place, the first order for one of the line’s regular customers is already being processed.

When the line was suspended in the middle of 2020, due to the plant‘s previous financial issues, its 72 strong workforce continued to be employed in a variety of roles elsewhere in the steelworks.

Jaroslaw Huptys, Director of Liberty Czestochowa‘s Steel Structures and Prefabrication Plant, said: “Realization of the first orders will allow us to verify our capabilities and the efficiency of our equipment after a long break. If we can ramp up our production of prefabricates to previous levels then it should be possible to increase employment in our plant to over 100 workers.“

Robert Gierlinski, head of the Prefabrication Order Fulfillment Department, said: “We have a lot of work ahead of us to rebuild our position on the market, but we are already receiving enquiries from customers for whom we have produced in the past, which is a good sign for the future.“
