Are you ready for our health challenge?

Get your walking gear ready, because we’re running a global health challenge across GFG in October and November!

An incredible 175 teams have signed up – that’s almost 900 of our people globally. We’re seeing some brilliantly creative team names, including the pun-tastic ‘Not Fast, Just Furious’ from Steel & Tube Australia, ‘Worst Pace Scenario’ from Stocksbridge UK, and ‘Up the Irons!’ from Ostrava Czech Republic. ‘Red Hot Chilli Steppers’ is proving to be a popular name with several teams in Australia and the US.

We know that being active each day is proven to prevent chronic disease, as well as improve our mood, concentration and mental health. Most of us spend a third of our waking lives at work, and for many, a lot of that time is spent sitting. When we combine busy work lives, commuting, social activities and home duties that don’t require us to be very active, we don’t often reach the recommended level of physical activity for optimum health and wellbeing.

The health challenge aims to help us develop healthy habits by encouraging us to be active while having a bit of fun and friendly competition along the way – creating a healthier workplace. Participants can enter the challenge in teams of five, and commit to take at least 10 thousand steps per participant, per day over the two months. Teams’ steps will be collected each week and the leaderboard will be updated and accessible on the Health Challenge Hub.

Registration is now closed and the challenge runs from 4th October – 30th November 2022.

Head over to the Health Challenge Hub to track which teams are dominating the leaderboard and for tips and tools.
