Change at the top for ALVANCE Aluminium Dunkerque

Aluminium Dunkerque’s Director of Operations, Amélie Hennion, will take on the plant’s Managing Director role, following the appointment of the present MD, Guillaume de Goÿs as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the ALVANCE Aluminium Group.

Amélie’s career in the aluminium industry dates back to 2005 when she joined Rio Tinto from Alcan working in Brisbane and Paris before joining the team at Aluminium Dunkerque as Director of Business Transformation and Continuous Improvement, before becoming Manager of the Carbon Plant in 2015 .  In 2017, Amélie Moved to Montreal, Canada to head up Rio Tinto’s Atlantic Aluminium Business Transformation programme before returning to Dunkerque as Director of Operations.

Guillaume de Goÿs said: “I am pleased to be leaving Dunkerque in Amélie’s capable hands – I have worked with her and the team for many years and believe the site is fortunate to have such an experienced and professional group at the helm.”

In his new role, Guillaume will oversee all of ALVANCE’s operations from its primary upstream businesses, including Aluminium Dunkerque and Fort William in Scotland, to its downstream operations at ALVANCE Wheels France ALVANCE Aluminium Technologies Poitou and ALVANCE Cast Products Poitou as well as the Duffel rolling plant near Brussels once its purchase by ALVANCE is completed.
