Galati Robotics Club to continue in 2024

LIBERTY Galati and the GFG Foundation will extend their Robotics Club for employees’ children with a new edition in summer 2024, after the success and high interest seen this year.

This summer, over 120 children participated in the Robotics Club pilot project, which provided a suitable framework to prepare young people for the future and to develop their passion for innovative subjects to complement their school curricula. The children, aged between 7 and 18 years old, enjoyed the opportunity to study robotics, building various robot models using programming and LEGO parts.

Ajay Aggarwal, President of LIBERTY Steel Group Europe and Chairman of the Board of Directors of LIBERTY Galati, said: “We have noticed an incredible interest from the parents at LIBERTY Galati to provide an interactive experience for their children this summer and we are glad that we were able to provide them with the opportunity to further their interest in these new technologies and provide a suitable framework for developing their skills. Family and change are two of our core values, which is why we are so pleased to be able to offer even more children from the Galati community the opportunity to participate in this great project next year.

Georgina Crumpton, General Manager of the GFG Alliance and GFG Foundation, said: “We are committed to the Galati community and, in particular, the educational sector. All GFG Foundation projects aim to support the next generation and prepare them for a different, cleaner, greener, and technology-defined future. Along with the dual learning programme focused on STEM subjects at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School, the Robotics Club represents another successful project dedicated to the new generation, as their future will be driven by yet more amazing changes in technology. I’m looking forward to welcoming a new group of children next summer.”

Florin Vârtosu, employed in Galati’s Furnaces Department, said: “It was a great experience, and my child was very excited about the activities he did. The Robotics Club developed his passion for programming, for LEGO and robots, and I’m glad he had this opportunity.”
