Galati’s Future Innovators: GFG Foundation’s Dual Learning Programme

This month marked a pivotal moment for the 43 students from Galati who are enrolled in the Dual Learning Programme, by the GFG Foundation. These bright young minds are set to embark on a journey of discovery, gaining new technical and professional skills through an interactive educational programme designed by the GFG Foundation, Rewise Learning, and LIBERTY Galati.

Grade 9 students from “Paul Dimo” Technological High School participated in activities designed to enhance their individual and teamwork capabilities, while building their technical acumen. A highlight of their week included constructing a Bluetooth speaker from recycled steel cans, a project that not only taught them about technology but also instilled a sense of environmental responsibility. Following this group, Year 10 students will be given a tour of the plant and will participate in hands-on activities. They’ll gain insights into the future of the steelworks of Galati and the role they can play in its evolution.

To ready them for the professional world, these soon-to-be electricians will engage in workshops focusing on CV writing and interview techniques, facilitated by our seasoned HR specialists.

“We are thrilled to reconnect with the students in the dual learning programme. Our team has curated interactive and captivating learning activities that help them understand and master technical and engineering principles, as well as nurturing their personal and professional skills. One of the things that’s of utmost importance to young people today is the environment and the impact that we have on the environment, not only as individuals, but as businesses and industries. We really want the next generation to be part of our transition to GREENSTEEL and it’s so important that they understand, and they realise, how important they are to this transition to change.”

Georgina Crumpton, General Manager of GFG Alliance and GFG Foundation
