The Global Tax team recently attended the 2nd Edition of UAE Corporate Tax Forum held in Dubai last month. Preben Thorsen, Aparna Lakshminarasimhan, Kishore Kadam, Fouzia Banu, were present at the session which was also attended by industry professionals and tax practitioners, to learn more about Tax and Transfer Pricing legislation impacting businesses in UAE.

Challenges of assessing the impact of the proposed 9% tax rate on business operations
GFG’s Global Head of Transfer Pricing, Aparna Lakshminarasimhan, was one of the panel members for the Q&A session – “Transfer Pricing and its impact on UAE businesses”. She shared practical insights on the UAE Corporate Tax law especially from Family-owned businesses’ point of view, impact of transfer pricing matters for tax planning, impact on business and organisation structures, shareholdings, etc. Polling questions captured the audience members’ level of preparedness in their own organisations for the introduction of UAE Tax Law.
The Women’s Tax Community – Aparna Lakshminarasimhan, along with Ola Barreto-Morley hosted a session for the Women’s Tax Community – United Arab Emirates (UAE). The community, is an initiative to offer a fraternity for women in the UAE, to share ideas and knowledge, network and mentor, so as to empower, support and develop future women leaders within the local community.
