Working group meets to support carbon initiative

The LIBERTY Bell Bay (LBB) manganese smelter in Tasmania, Australia, has reaffirmed its commitment to the GFG Alliance CN30 (Carbon Neutral by 2030) ambition.

LBB held its inaugural CN30 working group meeting recently. The purpose of the working group is to support GFG Alliance’s ambition to make metal manufacturing sustainable by 2030 and to achieve zero scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions.

The focus will be on supporting identification and implementation of CN30 initiatives at LBB and communicating with the broader LBB team about the changes required.

The working group will work closely with the Dubai and Whyalla team to develop the required skills and understanding to empower the next generation to deal with the challenges of climate change.
