LIBERTY Galați and GFG Foundation celebrate the first year of the “Paul Dimo” dual learning program

Future electricians from the dual learning class at the “Paul Dimo” Technological High School took part in an interactive and dynamic workshop on Monday, together with our colleagues, promoting biodiversity and the importance of maintaining green spaces and garden areas. The activity celebrated the first year of the dual learning programme, coordinated with LIBERTY Galați and GFG Foundation, and the students had many fun surprises, including outdoor activities!

The event, organised by LIBERTY Galați and GFG Foundation, aimed to provide students with a good framework for understanding biodiversity, both theoretically and practically. Students created a “seed ball”, which they planted near the LIBERTY Club, and then presented to mentors and guests the types of plants they had chosen.

“Nature can live without us, but we depend on it and that’s why we have to protect it. An industrial company, like ours, must be very careful about its impact on the environment. That’s why we have ambitious GREENSTEEL transformation plans, which are primarily aimed at delivering carbon-neutral production by 2030, to protect the environment and, in effect, our community.”

Mirela Dobrotă, Head of Enviroment, LIBERTY Galati

The event marked the end of the first school year for the 21 students in the dual learning class at Paul Dimo Technological High School, supported by GFG Foundation and LIBERTY Galați, which has monthly scholarships and personalised educational programmes. The dual education system combines theoretical knowledge taught by teachers with practical activities carried out with the help of LIBERTY Galați mentors. During the internships, students studied in a specially prepared workshop and received work and protective equipment, with the company providing transport and lunch.
