LIBERTY Galati starts Summer School registration

LIBERTY Galați’s Summer School, which has been the centerpiece of its annual internship programme for the last twelve years, has launched the application process for this year’s edition which will run for two and a half months over the summer.

Students who choose to enrol in the Summer School have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment alongside our mentors and specialists while getting involved in our operations, learning about the company and our GREENSTEEL transformation plans. The young people will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment alongside the plant’s mentors and specialists, participate in training courses and develop the communication and teamwork skills that are so necessary to become professionals.

“We are very pleased to launch the registration for the Summer School, an internship program that we have run successfully every year since 2012. We welcome students and graduates from Galati, but also from nearby counties, to join us in our activities and in our GREENSTEEL plans. We provide the ideal environment for young people to develop and take important steps in their careers and I invite as many as possible to join our family.”

Mihaela Vereș, Human Resources Manager for LIBERTY Romania

Since its launch, almost 500 students have graduated the Summer School, with 150 eventually joining the team at LIBERTY Galati. One of them is Cristian Grosu who joined the Summer School in 2019 after graduating the Faculty of Automation, Computer, Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Galati’s “Dunărea de Jos” University and now is a Support Engineer within the plant’s Central Maintenance Department.

Personally, I saw the Summer School internship as a launch pad for my professional career immediately after graduation. I had the opportunity to work on a project with practical application during this programme from which I was able to accumulate a wealth of knowledge.  The internship culminated with the presentation of the project for the company representatives, a great opportunity to evaluate my work. I chose to continue as an employee of the company when the programme ended, so I was able to explore and further develop what I had started during the Summer School internship”.
