LIBERTY Ostrava receives a visit from the city’s new Mayor

LIBERTY Ostrava was honoured to welcome Ostrava’s new city mayor to its premises. Mayor Jan Dohnal, from the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), met with executive director Pavel Šedivý who gave him a tour of the plant and updated him on the current production process. He was also given an overview of the plant’s GREENSTEEL transformation of the Ostrava mill and the progress the company is making with its new hybrid furnaces.

They also talked about the support of education in the region and how the city can support the company to attract young people who would help the company achieve its CN30 ambition. Mr. Dohnal also had a chance to see production process at the country’s biggest steelmaker namely the tapping of hot metal at blast furnace No. 3 and steel production at tandem furnaces at Steel shop.
