‘Look Around’ Shows the Way to More Sustainable Living

The GREENSTEEL Academy in collaboration with Rita Monteiro – Head of Decarbonization, hosted a one-hour event called “Look Around – An Environment and Sustainability Initiative” for all employees in Dubai. The objective of the session was to raise awareness about sustainability and the importance of environmental consciousness in both their office and personal life.

The event was highly interactive and approximately 65 employees in attendance, sharing their ideas and experiences on sustainable practices. The session included two key questions: “How can you make the common areas, work desks, kitchen areas more sustainable?” and “List 5 easy ideas to make life sustainable”. The participants’ responses kept pouring in and generated insightful conversations on how to make the workplace more environmentally friendly.

Eating less meat, were some of the suggestions made during the session.

These small changes in habits can lead to a considerable reduction in carbon footprint.

The session was not only informative but also a great opportunity for employees to network with their colleagues and learn from each other, setting the stage for offices to also use the format to run a workshop with staff in other businesses.

“Look Around – An Environment and Sustainability Initiative” was a successful event that highlighted the importance of sustainability and encouraged employees to think about their carbon footprint in their daily lives, making individual pledges to greener living. With such initiatives, GFG is moving closer to its CN30 mission, and we can all contribute to a more sustainable future.
